Book in your first repair
From the customer handing you the item to it being ready for collection.
A repair in RepairDesk is called a ticket. One ticket is one item you have taken in.
- For Shopify, open RepairDesk from Apps in your Shopify admin. For a standalone web account, sign in on the RepairDesk website.
- Open Tickets and choose New Ticket.
- Enter the customer's name. Add their email or phone number if they want repair updates; adding an email or phone number does not turn on messages by itself.
- Describe the item and what needs doing. Add photos now if the item is damaged — it is much easier to agree what state it arrived in before you start work.
- Choose Create Ticket. The ticket gets a number you can write on the job bag.
Not ready for a real repair? Use the labelled sample option on the home setup guide. Previewing a notification sends no message; review your settings before using real customer details.
Moving it along
Each ticket has a status — booked in, being worked on, ready for collection, and so on. Change the status as the job moves and the customer can follow it themselves without ringing you.
Automatic updates need configured notifications. SMS also needs an eligible plan, an approved sender, available credit and customer permission. Check message delivery in the repair history; saving a phone number is not proof that a text was sent.
